Welcome to CISKD

Catholic Independent Schools Kamloops Diocese (CISKD) is located in B.C’s beautiful south-central region and serves more than 1,400 students.

With more than 200 dedicated employees and nearly 100 independent contractors, we work together to create vibrant learning communities rooted in faith.

Why You’ll Love It Here

As one of five Catholic school systems in B.C., we are part of a network of 79 schools committed to providing a Christ-centered education. Our mission is to help students critically engage with the world around them and build a society guided by Gospel values.

In partnership with families and parishes, our schools share in the Church’s mission through evangelization, catechetics and service. Teaching here is more than a profession — it’s a meaningful vocation that shapes hearts and minds through a Catholic lens.

What We Value

Our Catholic faith shapes education in every dimension — spiritual, academic, physical, social, emotional and aesthetic. We emphasize:

  • Teaching the Whole Person in Christ
  • Faith Lived in Christian Community
  • Commitment to Justice and Compassion

While we primarily serve Catholic families, we welcome all who seek a faith-based education and those called to the vocation of Catholic teaching. All of our schools meet Ministry of Education standards, with certified teachers and programs for diverse learning needs.

What Makes Us Unique

CISKD schools are vibrant professional learning communities built on:

  • Gospel values and Catholic teaching that shape meaningful, relationship-based work
  • A strong vocational culture that supports personal, professional and spiritual growth
  • Collaboration and teamwork within a supportive environment
  • Shared responsibility and community in fulfilling our mission to serve students, families and parishes

Our School Community

Join the CISKD team, where shared values guide us and faith in Christ shapes our mission.

We operate five schools in Vernon, Kamloops, Williams Lake and Quesnel, located on the traditional territories of the Secwépemc, Lhtako Dene and Tsilhqot’in peoples. We also run ASCEND Online, B.C.’s only K-12 Catholic distance learning school, serving families across the province.

Rooted in Catholic tradition, our schools foster communities built on Gospel values. Every role matters — teachers, educational assistants, technology teams, custodial staff and leaders — all working together to create safe, supportive environments where students thrive.

Life in B.C.’s Interior

The Diocese of Kamloops spans three beautiful regions: North Okanagan, Thompson-Okanagan and Cariboo Chilcotin. These areas are known for scenic landscapes and year-round recreation — hiking, lakes and ski resorts are all within easy reach, making them ideal places to live, work, play and pray.

Living in the Interior means lower housing costs, shorter commutes and more time to enjoy what matters. Hot, dry summers and snowy winters offer endless outdoor activities, while vibrant arts communities provide theatre, galleries, museums and shopping.
