Welcome to Maple Hill School
Why You’ll Love It Here
Maple Hill School provides students with a strong academic curriculum and a wide range of programs and services to meet their diverse needs and interests. Our students come from around the world to learn from each other and deepen their understanding and appreciation of diversity.
What We Value
Maple Hill School’s mission is to prepare students to be successful in both their academic and personal life after high school.
Our students receive an individualized education that caters to their specific academic goals – whether that’s applying to one of the world’s top-ranked universities or to a small college. We work with our students to make sure their post-secondary dreams can become a reality.
What Makes Us Unique
At Maple Hill School, teachers enjoy flexibility — they’re paid per class and can choose their workload. A full-time schedule typically includes 10 courses from September to June over three semesters: September to December, January to April and May to June. The May–June term runs like summer school with an accelerated finish, and classes are also offered in July and August.
We provide strong support for students. Study advisors help with cultural adjustment, foster peer connections, offer homework guidance, track progress and provide assistance whenever needed. From arrival, our staff ensures students feel at home — arranging airport pickup, homestay, local guardianship, medical care and guidance on Canadian life and culture.
Our School Community
Maple Hill School embraces the B.C. curriculum’s focus on creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication. These 21st-century skills prepare students for an ever-changing future.
Our academic program combines in-class instruction with inquiry-based learning on campus and through field trips and excursions. Students from around the world join our community, bringing determination and a spirit of adventure.
We help students build the personal and academic skills they need to succeed after high school. Maple Hill offers strong supports, including coaching and homestay placement, to ensure every student is cared for in an environment where success is nurtured.
Living in Richmond
Our school is located in Richmond, next to the Aberdeen Canada Line Station for easy commuting across the Lower Mainland. Shops, restaurants and fitness facilities are steps away, including the Richmond Olympic Oval, a state-of-the-art sports complex and community centre.
Maple Hill is also close to the world-famous Richmond Night Market, the largest in North America, featuring food stalls and attractions. Richmond offers world-class dining, including the Dumpling Trail — a self-guided tour of 20 restaurants and food stalls.
The city is rich in parks and history. Spend a day in Steveston learning about the fishing industry at the mouth of the Fraser River, or explore the scenic dike trails with views of the Salish Sea.
