What Makes Us Unique
Chaoyin Bilingual School offers a rigorous academic program that challenges students to reach their full potential. What truly sets us apart is our Mandarin Language Program — with daily instruction beginning in Kindergarten, students develop fluency by Grade 7, regardless of prior experience. About half of our enrolment is from overseas students in China.
We also offer several other unique programs:
- STEM-focused curriculum
- Daily physical education from Junior Kindergarten
- Wide range of clubs including debating, drama, sports, and public speaking
- Leadership opportunities across all grades
- School-wide spirit houses
- Sister school exchanges with Chaoyin China Schools
- Community field experiences with UBC
Our School Community
At CBS, staff are supported through a variety of events and activities — from wellness initiatives and financial planning to social gatherings and travel opportunities to China.
We foster a culture that values teaching and learning, strong relationships, and a great sense of humour, making CIS a truly rewarding place to work.

With over 400 Asian restaurants and three Hong Kong-style malls, the city is a hub for authentic Asian culture — all within easy reach of YVR airport, BC Ferries, and the U.S. border.
Chaoyin Bilingual School is centrally located near the SkyTrain, shopping, dining, and the Richmond Olympic Oval, making it a convenient and inspiring place to learn.
