Glenlyon Norfolk School (GNS) is a leading co-educational, independent day school that is consistently recognized among the top schools on Vancouver Island and throughout British Columbia. GNS is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World Continuum school and is one of only fifteen schools in Canada that offers the IB curriculum from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Our School Community
GNS is a close-knit, independent school community with 700 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12. Our Junior School is Canada’s only beachfront campus, located on Beach Drive in Oak Bay. Just one kilometre away, our Middle and Senior School campus sits in the quiet Rockland neighbourhood, both just minutes from downtown Victoria.
We pride ourselves on being a family-focused school where every student is known by name. Parents are active partners in learning, often volunteering to support school life. Our faculty and staff foster a caring, collaborative environment, united by a shared commitment to our mission and values.
Living in Victoria
Victoria, B.C.’s capital, offers the charm of a small town with the amenities of a cosmopolitan city. Both GNS campuses are minutes from downtown, yet nestled in quiet residential neighbourhoods free from urban congestion.
The city offers vibrant arts and sports scenes, including the Royal BC Museum, the Victoria Royals hockey team, and a strong theatre community. It’s also home to Canada’s oldest Chinatown and a wide range of dining, shopping and cultural experiences.

Salary and Benefits
SALARY
GNS offers a comprehensive salary and benefits package.
Teaching salaries are reviewed annually to ensure we remain competitive to the local school districts and independent schools in our area. Teachers with a master’s degree also receive an additional stipend.
We also offer extensive internal and external professional development opportunities.
Our teachers are well-supported by an engaged Leadership Team and committed families who partner with the school in pursuing their children’s academic aspirations.
