What We Value

PCS is a Christ-centred, multi-denominational, multi-ethnical education community. In partnership with the Christian home and church, we seek to to glorify God in all aspects of life. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we explore God’s world through biblical truth and recognize each child’s unique potential.

What Makes Us Unique

Our school is rooted in the Lordship of Jesus Christ and values the interconnectedness of all subjects. Building strong, caring relationships among students, staff and families is central to our approach.

As a K–12 school, we follow B.C. Ministry of Education standards in the various curricula we teach to our students. Students in grades 10-12 often engage in online learning while maintaining a full course load at Penticton Christian School. Our school’s strong special education program enriches the learning experience of all students and the entire school community.

Penticton Christian School fosters a collaborative, collegial workplace where staff work together to support students and administration. The principal provides visible, supportive leadership, and team members carry out responsibilities faithfully.

Staff turnover is low, and those who join often remain for many years. Former staff frequently stay connected to the school community even after retirement.

PCS serves the communities of the South Okanagan. Penticton offers a slower pace of life with warm weather, stunning scenery and year-round recreation. The city is known for its beaches, lakes, vineyards and ski slopes, with activities ranging from boating and hiking to wine tasting and cultural events.

Amenities include sports facilities, theatres, restaurants, a newly expanded hospital, a brand-new community swimming pool, and the KVR trail. Located 45 minutes from the U.S. border and close to Kelowna, Penticton combines convenience with a relaxed lifestyle.

Penticton Christian’s teachers and support staff members receive a fair salary/wages; competitive benefits package, including pension and extended health coverage. Our school is committed to providing ongoing professional development and a high degree of professional autonomy to our teachers.

Extra vacation time around the Christmas break is a staple at Penticton Christian School. The school year varies from 174 to 178 teaching days, flanked by professional development time at the beginning and end of the school year.

Working in a small school with students of all ages and abilities creates a rich, rewarding teaching experience at PCS.

A Commitment to Professional Development

Professional development is carried out throughout the school year. The school’s leadership subscribes to the principles of servant leadership, enabling employees to feel supported, valued, and appreciated. While contracts are in place, they serve to provide general guidance and agreement on a few core employment conditions and expectations.
