Welcome to Okanagan Waldorf

Why You’ll Love It Here

Okanagan Waldorf (OWS) is a thriving school that offers Waldorf education from early childhood through Grade 8.

We reach a diverse community within the Okanagan Valley, providing exceptional academics from a rural campus. The students are immersed daily in nature experiences which promote holistic learning.

What We Value

We provide strong academics through purposeful experiences in the classroom and nature. In an environment of reverence and wonder, we seek to uncover the full potential in each child so that they may freely carry out their lives with courage and purpose.

By creating meaningful relationships with the community and the environment, we contribute to positive social and ecological change.

Our School Community

Nestled in the Whitevale area of Lumby, BC, Okanagan Waldorf School sits on a beautiful 26-acre wooded campus surrounded by an 1,100-acre working farm — perfect for fresh air and outdoor learning.

As a Waldorf school, we honor the spiritual dimension of every student, parent, and colleague, creating a deeply immersive and holistic educational experience.

Our rural setting offers a peaceful pace of life just 20 minutes from Vernon (population 40,000) and 45 minutes from Kelowna (population 128,000). Families enjoy the best of both worlds: the tranquility of nature with easy access to vibrant city amenities.

Endless Adventure

The Okanagan Valley offers something for everyone. Enjoy activities such as hiking, biking, camping, climbing, water sports and winter sports in a family-oriented community.

Trails and lakes abound in this area as well as two large, yet family oriented, ski resorts, i.e. Silverstar Mountain and Big White.

You can also enjoy a variety of cultural activities, such as live theatre, music concerts, dance studio, art galleries, museums, and numerous festivals. The area is also host to a performing arts centre and national level hockey and skills training centres.
