We offer two main programs: SelfDesign Learning Community, for kindergarten to Grade 12, and SelfDesign Home Learning, our homeschool option.

What Makes Us Unique
SelfDesign empowers learners through a personalized, relationship-based approach to education. Our BC-certified Learning Consultants (LCs) work online as independent contractors on flexible schedules, supported by orientation, mentorship and a collaborative team. We connect virtually throughout the year and gather in person annually for professional development.
We believe every child is the author of their own learning journey. Following the BC Ministry of Education curriculum, we center learning on the individual — recognizing it as a process, not a product. LCs guide learners in creating personalized plans toward graduation pathways, including the Dogwood Diploma, Adult Graduation Diploma or School Completion Certificate.
Our inclusive education program ensures equal access and tailored support for all learners. We embrace diversity through Indigenous education initiatives and actively support SOGI 123 with resources like our Rainbow Hub, GSA and Family Services team.
Our School Community
With SelfDesign, learning happens at home, online and in the local community.
We provide learners with digital tools and resources to complement real-world experiences. They connect in real time with peers and B.C.-certified educators via web conferencing and collaborate through the ePortfolio platform, accessing resources from the SelfDesign Learning Experiences Library.
We also offer optional group learning and events, including online workshops, forums for parents and learners, in-person camps, community gatherings, special interest clubs, work experience, apprenticeship programs and more.
Connected Learning
We go above and beyond the walls of a classroom because our learners do. We offer a personalized and flexible approach to education for over 2,000 learners from kindergarten to grade 12 each year.

Compensation is contract-based and varies according to roles, number of learners and the individual applicant. Benefits may be available through external providers to independent contractors.
